Thanks Chip! Unfortunately, iPad does not ship with Flash, ongoing battle going on there between Adobe and Apple. Hope you're loving your iPad!

If you encode it as H.264 (which YouTube can do for you), it will play on the iPhone, iPad, and so on. Highly recommended.

I like this new initiative. The amount of things I would want however would probably not fit in this textbox. I have downloaded hundreds not so thousands of addressbook applications / crm applications and basically none do the things I would like them todo. The amazing thing is that we call these things addressbook while actually we only store contacts and not use addresses as a a primary key. In other words: if I have a house with an aunt, uncle and two nephews who all have multiple social network profiles, telephones, e-mails I still need to enter the same address 4 times. Siebel CRM seems to be the only one who has decent Households support however it is a bit expensive to run that on my private laptop as my personal addressbook... I've tried putting in household support in outlook, google etc.. but ofcourse when syncing (now back to the topic) the meta household groupings get lost. So I started a numbering scheme in the name of persons themselves to group them into a hierarchy of households, companies with departments and so on. Unforuntately that shows up very bad in pocketpcs where it only shows numbers for names etc.... In all the past 10 years no single vendor freeware, shareware, open source has put forward any decent ADDRESSbook with household support. Civicrm comes close but really is not about supporting regular households but organizations. Some posts that I tagged about the very basic idea: http://edward.de.leau.net/about/addressbook Why is it so that even the hyper/vcf etc... standards are all about CONTACTS and not about HOUSEHOLDS? While the strange thing is that about every household when e.g. they have a celebration have a need of a list of addresses and not a list of contacts.

Thank you for your amazingly insightful feedback Edward. The Household or Company level view is a serious problem, especially once you add sync to the equation. We will definitely take your feedback into consideration as we move forward. Thank you!

Bob, I keep things pretty clean and have used the tools from Plaxo and Google Apps. Where I actually see the problem exploding is when you start mining for contacts across your networks (aka GIST). Would be great to see totals across all of your sources, identify differences and have the ability to find, combine or split. Would also be great to be able to create rules especially for "non-people" contacts

Great feedback John, we totally agree, the problem with consolidating data sources from across the web is only going to get worse. We're hoping our tools help build some sanity around that. I'd love to hear more about your rules idea for "non-people". Thanks for the feedback!

Bob, I haven't revisited syncacross since the early initial install last year, but since that time, I've moved completely over to Google Apps/Accounts and once I cleaned up my contacts, I've not had issues. However I do realize many people still use MS Outlook at work, as well as at home, so it's still a problem of dupes and synchronization. Cloud computing has solved it for me, but for others, it could still be a valuable service. I'd do a "per use" fee...

How is this any better than the de-dupers that Plaxo or Google Contacts offer?

Great video and idea. I hope you can deliver on the promise. Would love to be using/testing it. Also, as I mentioned in the survey, would love to talk to you about how what you have learned might help using allowing our users to sync their www.activewords.com profiles across multiple computers!

Bob, if it ACTUALLY WORKS well, it would be a godsend! Unfortunately, the versions that I've used of cleanup apps just don't do it well. For example, somehow I've got two versions of many contacts, one that's Last, First, one that swaps the names and puts the last name as the first name... But, nothing catches that! So, yes, if it works, I'd be deeply grateful!

Bob, I did discover how this happens. It occurs when I create a contact from within Mail.app on my Mac and the fullname in the "From" is messed up (as it often seems to be).

Bob, as someone with triplicate contacts a plenty, this sounds great. I can totally relate to not wanting run red lights anymore while fumbling with my contacts! When can I get my hands on this?
